Menopausal hot flushes in the face what did yours feel like

I don’t know where to start but I started to decline rapidly after three years of perimenopausal and now missed five periods in a row started with very hot flushes in the face burning but not sweating and had to use a damp flannel and took a paracetamol to try and calm it down. Also chills over various nights. What did your menopausal flushes feel like? I spend most of my day in front of a cool air fan

Hi there! about 6 months ago I started flushing and my face would burn. Very hot sensation! Sometimes it would last hours and I have to do a cold wet rag and a fan. With my anxiety I naturally freaked out after it would repeatedly happen thinking I had something seriously wrong with me. I have learned the more I freak out about it the worse it gets. I've had very strange perimenopause symptoms and this is one of them! I do get nights sweats also but never any chilling. I do know that chilling is a very common accurance also. Honestly, all of this sucks! Lol 👎

There are several different types of hot flashes. They can be mild or severe. They can last anywhere from a few minutes to several hours to several days. There is your basic hot flash, then there are your hot flash aura's (HORRIBLE) and then there are hot flushes, and then there is menopause fever (it can last days and it is HORRIBLE) then there are night sweats, then there are adrenaline hot flushes (HORRIBLE X 10 and can last days). You must learn to cope and not stress. Find anything that helps and keep it near by. Stress and anxiety makes them worse. Also they get worse the more periods you skip. Peri-menopause hot flashes do not seem to be as bad as menopause hot flashes. Some women have no choice and have to use HRT. Chills can show up before or after any of the hot flashes. Prayers and slow deep breathing Helps. Sorry you are having them, I sent a prayer your way.

Wow, that is really interesting, I didnt know there were so many different types of hot flushes.
I used to get them just in the night during peri but they would normally be related to stress and I could control them somewhat with deep breathing and trying to relax but the ones Im getting now are relentless, they come on all through the day and night, last 2 - 5 mins, my back feels burning hot if Im in bed and I have to throw the quilt off and roll on my front, always have the windows and curtains open to so I can catch a draft. I dont sweat though, my mum used to get awful night sweats where she would have to change her nightwear. Ive not had chills, only when my flush passes which is really quick and I suddenly freezing and have to pull the quilt back over me quick, its around 2 degrees here in the night so quite cold.
I cant control them, tried everything, I just have to wait for it to pass. I do think they are still stress related as I feel waves of adrenaline rush through me, Im not too bad if Im doing something Im enjoying in the day. They are horrible though, I dont think unless you've had them that you can understand, I get no sympathy from my family, all males!
