Menopause and body temperature

Every night for the past week I have had hot flushes, sometimes all night. It seems as soon as I get into bed I just cannot cool down. But in the day I don't get them, if anything I go around feeling cold even when the house is lovely and warm. I am totally exhausted. I am 55 in April and I don't know whether I am starting the menopause, in the middle of it, or at the end! What can I do? I am assuming of course that I am right in thinking it is the menopause.****

Hi Dianne,
Some things I did when I first started getting night hot flashes...
Gave up sugary soft drinks
Added flaxseed to my morning smoothie or toast
Added vitamin e and magnesium to vitamin routine
Don't drink coffee after Noon
Religiously keep a bedtime routine... nothing even remotely exciting after 10 pm. no news, no upbeat music, no games, no food... lots of books, yoga, room temp water
Bought a fan to blow air around the room...if i'm having a really bad night, blows directly at me.
Light pajamas to sleep in, with a robe bedside in case I have to get up...
I sleep with my feet out from under the blankets, lol...
Mine might also be partially related to allergies, so I take Benadryl an hour before bed during allergy season (which seems to be yearround anymore)
Finally about a year ago I had to go on an estrogen patch when the above was no longer enough. It really made a difference.
I am 50, and things started going wonky for me around 44.
Good luck!

Hopefully you will get my reply. Please try Apple Cider Vinegar. I prefer the gummies, you can also buy capsules or you can drink 1TBL of it if you dare. I personally cannot tolerate drinking it as it causes my stomach to hurt a bit but the gummies and capsules are easy to take. I would start with 2 gummies or 2 capsules in morning and 2 at night and then once the hot flashes stop (mine stopped within 2 or 3 days) then you can probably go down to just 2 a day. You might have to play around with the dosage to see what works best. But I swear by this! Give it some time to work for you, don't give up on it. I've read for some people it takes one day and others said it took a couple of weeks for them to go away entirely. I wish my mom had known about this remedy when she had hot flashes, she dealt with them for years 😦
