Menopause hell, don't feel like me anymore

Posted , 5 users are following.

I've been menopausal for about years, or atleast I think I have. In the beginning I tried over the counter

medication and then HRT, HRT stopped the night sweats but didn't help with anything else. I don't take the HRT now as I have a coil and was so concerned with the amount of hormones.

I literally do not know who I am anymore. I am tired, miserable, my hair is thinning. I have terrible night sweats that wake me every few hours. I have not been initimate with my husband for nearly a year, as my once healthy sex drive is now less then nil. I hate feeling like this.

Please anyone, what can I do ?

First of all you are not alone in this...talk to someone a friend or family member who is or has gone through this. Talk to your Dr. They should be able to give you information on things you can try. Also be total honest with your husband. I hope he is supportive of you during this journey. Continue to read everything you can get your hands on about menopause. It is really a taxing part of our lives both physically and emotionally. I would love to say symptoms will go away, and some days they do. But I have faith that it will be better once our body and mind catches up with each other.

    Hi Paula,

Not sure why you have a coil if your in menopause? 12 months without a period is when you reach menopause. Shouldn't need contraceptives then. I would highly recommend bio identical hormone replacement. Pellets are the best option which include testosterone. Of course getting to a dr that knows the ins and outs is best if you can find holistic or alternative doctors. They will run regular labs to keep your body balanced with what it needs. There is no reason a woman should have to suffer at this time in your life. You should be able to continue to enjoy many more years of intimacy as well . I am 60 and on pellets and will continue them for the rest of my life.
