hey ladies, as anyone tried the menopause home test kit which tests the levels of FSH in the body?? i have done several of them over the past week as i am having symptoms of perimenopause and they have all come back positive i am booked in for my bloods but my gp told me they could come back normal as your hormones are up and down.... i also have a genetic chromosome condition but my doctors seem to think that because im 30 im too young to be going through the menopause im fed up of being fobbed off i know my own body.!!!

    Hi

I have premature ovarian insufficiency (POI) basically i start preimenopause is my 20 and now at 31 am postmenopausal i.e i have not had a period in over 3 years. if preimenopause symptoms start before you are 40 you need to be checked to make sure your ovaries are still working. This is normally done by doing 3 hormone test each 1 month apart. They meant to be at the same point in your cycle but when i had mine done i was not have period every month. Also certain genetic conditions or autoimmune disorders mean your more likely to develop POI.

    Hope this helps

I have had difficulty sleeping in the past , due to night sweats and mild insomnia. I now take HRT so my sleep is better but not as good as before my menopause.

what does your doctor mean by normal ? I would ask to speak with a specialist as my GP though i had polycystic ovaries which I had no symptoms for but my gynecologists knew start away by looking at my blood and doing an internal ultrasound of my ovaries that it was POI. Also if you're on the pill the blood test results won't be accurate either.

she said that everything the tested for in my bloods have come back normal and that my hormone levels are fine she did say that if these bloods come back normal then she will get a second opinion from the gynaecologist. i was on the pill but id stopped taking it like a week before my bloods was due
