Mental exhaustion from confrontation.

does anyone else get burnt out when you argue with someone? i used to have very good debating skills but lately when i argue i get really out of it. its like i shut down when im stressed out.

    not sure of the context of what you are arguing about but I learned a while back that nothing is worth getting super stressed out about. Things like arguing to prove a point or trying to get somebody to agree with you are really not worth it unless it’s something that’s life-threatening. it’s very difficult to get somebody to change their mind.

    . Now I asked myself " do I want to be right or do I want to be happy? "

    I want to be happy with peace of mind.

    Also there are better ways to go about disagreements than arguing. Arguing just about every time does not produce good results. Everybody is on the defensive, sometimes name-calling and finger-pointing. Those never work. .

    there are ways to get your point across without yelling and if the person still doesn’t agree then that’s all you can do.

    You can always remove yourself from the situation also.
