Mental health or neurological condition. How would you know if you suffered from one?

Hi Patient forums,
I'm new to posting on here. I'm a 29 year old male and I have a health concern in my head / brain area.
I went to a physician and they asked me questions about it so I tried my best to describe my symptoms. I basically told the doctor that there's times where my mind / brain feels kind of sensitive or tense, it's like a sensitive sensation or "pressure" in my brain. I told him that I feel low mood occasionally, but probably not enough to where I think I actually have depression.
I can feel irritable at times which I think is "normal", and I do have trouble focusing and concentrating when I'm stressed. Also, when I first wake up is when my "symptoms" are at their worst, and I think even have trouble thinking clearly in the morning.
I asked the physician if I should go to a neurologist or some other specialist and he decided to refer me to a psychiatrist. I had the first appointment with the psychiatrist a few weeks ago and he just asked me a few questions and then said I could decide whether or not I wanted to take medication (Buspar, an anti-anxiety medicine, or some other medicine called Strattera) when we speak at the next session which is tomorrow.
Talking to a psychiatrist is kind of frustrating because I genuinely do not think I struggle with anxiety or mental health concerns, and my main concern was whether or not I had a neurological issue and not a psychiatric one. Also, psychiatric medicines obviously have side effects which worries me.
What I do to cope when I feel this way is just stick with healthy, positive activities. I meditate and exercise regularly, use social media, and I'm somebody who takes my growth and success very seriously so I strive to improve myself every day.
But can anybody here on the discussion forums talk with me further so I can make better sense of my issue? I can explain in more detail if needed.
Thanks, and best of health to you fellow forum members!
