I feel your pain. I had the copper coil in for about 6 months and had nothing but pain from it, heavy periods and just generally felt awful. Saw a gynaecologist and had mine removed recently and he said he sees so many problems with the coil and that they are awful! My doctor highly recommended them and said how she hardly ever saw any issues (I can't help thinking this was the biggest lie ever told!!). Hope you manage to get some relief soon.

Hi Cathy. I also had terrible problems with this awful coil mainly depression, anxiety, panic attacks, dizzyness & brain fog, all of these I have never suffered from before. I had it removed 13 days ago & now my hormones are all over the place! Going back to the doctors again to demand a full hormone check. Doctor was reluctant to remove it, wanted me to keep it in & prescribed Ad's which I have not taken to date. Had to go to family planning for it removing, was not painful just uncomfortable. Good luck & hope you are feeling better soon

Hi Cathy,
I had a Mirena insterted 2 1/2 years ago during a laparoscopy to treat my endometriosis. I've now got pimples on my face, back and stomach, and horrible shooting pain like you - I'm having it taken out soon. Have you seen your doctor/gyn?

I had the mirena fitted a few weeks ago to try and reduce my heavy periods i also have prolapse so when they fitted the mirena the strings were so low down i could feel it jagging me constantly i went to my gp but she refused to take it out so had to wait for gyn appointment ... now it's out it's great but my heavy bleeding is a daily task i'm now 52 so hoping that i reach menopause soon
