Jackie, All the best to you and all the supporters of this site.

I discovered this forum one month before my surgery in August of this year and same as you I don't know what I would have done without all the support and advice given by the many people on this site.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all, from Patricia in Toronto

I WISH I would have found this site before my surgery. I only found it the day I came home from the hospital, but it was literally my lifeline.

The most important thing I learned here is to take adequate pain relief. And since I was on codeine I was advised that it is highly constipating so I took stoool softners and drank prune juice. I was more of the tough it out kind of girl and actually that was not the best course. You gotta have pain control, I learned that here on this forum, and once I did it made a huge difference in my recovery. I am reallyu greatful for this forumn and the many many generous people here. Most of us, in fact the far majority of us get to the other side okay.

The ones I feel sorry for are the people who have nerve damage. Those are real tough trheads for me to read. But I learned a lot reading them, that even with nerve damage, to see the right type of doctor and there are things they can do. In other words you are not destined to have this your whole life.

Hi jodi, I didnt find this site until 4 months after my revision , I am blessed to have family, but they dont understand what your going threw so when i found this site really helped me out because i didnt feel alone . I do have nerve damage very painful but getting better . I did have injection for my back which helped with my sciatic back pain , but not nerve pain. So taking one day at a time still going to physical therapy 3x week which helps alot .  So im very greatful for this site

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too!  Also for me, I could not have made it as easily over the last three months or so without you lovely people on this site.  It helps so much to know I am not alone.

Wishing the very best to you Jackie and to all others!

Hi Jackie, You are so right about this forum. It really helps knowing the do's and don'ts before and after surgery. There is a mine of info on here. It certainly helped me decide to go ahead with my THR and I am so glad I did it.

Hoping you and everyone on here have a merry Christmas and a happy new year
