Metatarsal stress fracture?

Posted , 4 users are following.

22 year old female recovering from anorexia - 6 months at weight stability (130lbs at 5’10”). This weight has been deemed acceptable by my PCP. Within the past few weeks, I consider myself “healed” from a tibial stress fracture in the right foot, caused by running too much while underweight. Now, the top of my left (other) foot hurts when walking. The toes are also numb. I know these are symptoms of a metatarsal stress fracture, but I don’t know what I could have done. I have resumed biking, weights, yoga, and normal walking (about 10,000 steps a day - I live in NYC and it’s tough to do less than that while living normally). I haven’t run at all, or jumped, or done any repeated impact activity. As well, it isn’t sore to the touch and there’s no swelling. I don’t know if I can handle another stress fracture - the last one took 4 months to heal. I am taking calcium-magnesium-zinc to support bone health and have ceased almost all walking and activity. Does this sound like a stress fracture? Even though I have done nothing? What should I do? I still have a walking boot - should I wear it? I should add my bone density is fine. Please let me know your thoughts.

I can relate to you, I am also from n.y.c. Well Brooklyn,n.y. To be exact and I am also 5" 10' was very underweight at one time and 130Lbs. Is a good weight try to maintain, that with that said you need to go to a doctor and get your foot x ray so you can know what's going on. And what your options are,

Good luck with everything, let me know what your results are??
