I only took it for 2 months and I came off it.It was making me tired all the time and I was worried about falling asleep while driving. I know how you feel, I felt like I had no life.Is there anything else you could take? See your GP or specialist. x

Hi ! Being on methotrexate for nine months now and feel worse every day from side affects . Have no life anymore , tire all the time, have headaches, swollen glands, nausea , loss of appetite, weight gain , stomache aches, even my vision isnt good anymore. I take 10mg weekly my injection but used to take 25 mg and I was in worse shape then. I am fighting every day with this disease. I have rheumatoid arthritis, osterarthritis, and fibromyalgia .

Wow and that is a low dose too.. I am on 20 MG's weekly but so far just feel yucky the first three days after taking it. I have RA and some type of dermamyosis that has a rash on my stomach, back, face and chest so I really hope it gets rid of it!

Yes  have a rash on my face mostly and feel yucky the first three days too. I hope the rash  goes away . Cant be need anyone who has a cold or flu as I get very sick and can't fight it. If I get a injection while sick can get pneumonia.

I know exactly how you feel, I was the same with the tablets and they let me go onto the injections as they said the side effects would be less, but it didn't really work. I am now on azathioprine and although similar side effects, they are not as bad. Some people are just unlucky and can't tolerate MTX, I am one of the them and unfortunately I think you are as well. I asked them to give me an alternative, if your Rheumy team are happy to do the same, I would ask them to. Good luck with it

    Patricia,

These symptoms are very common whilst getting used to the drug and seeing if it works for you. However to still be feeling like after nine months suggests to me that you are one of the people who can't tolerate it. You don't have to live like this. I would try to see your Rheumy ASAP and get your medication changed. There are lots of other options.

    I wish you luck

    Lisa
