Methotrexate

I am so confused about what some of you are writing about the side effects of methotrexate. Because I have none of these issues. I was diagnosed two years ago with symptomatic lupus. I'm on hydroxychloroquine. Which is the generic for Paquin. But it's not helping me lose any weight, feel any better, have any relief from joint pain, or get over any fatigue that I suffer from. Which I suffer from a ton of fatigue everyday all day. I can't go to the gym I can't work out I go to work I work about 6 hours sometimes I make it to 8 hours. Then I go home and I lay down. So my doctor prescribe me methotrexate injection form. I inject myself every Friday with 80 milligrams per milliliter. I'm on my second week and I have had zero side effects I'm kind of concerned that it's not doing what it should. Has anyone else been on Methotrexate and had zero complications? My doctor said after 2 weeks I should feel a huge increase in my fatigue and my bones and all my joints. But I don't feel anything yet. This can't be normal.

Hi Jamie,   I think the norm is that after about 6 weeks you should notice a difference in bones and joints.  I hope you are taking plenty of folic acid as it seems a  high dose you have been prescribed.

    All the best.

Side effects do not happen in all people and many people have none at all.  It takes 4 weeks for MTX to build up in your system and 13 weeks - 6 months for it to work.
