Methotrexate, aka body of bricks.

Posted , 3 users are following.

I’ve been on methotrexate for a few months. Along with plaquinil and prednisone for lupus nephritis. I feel so much better in the long run.  But the day I take my methotrexate and then for at least 48 hours I feel like I have bricks tied to my body. So tired. So crabby. So emotional. Is this normal?

I'm no good for about 36 hours after taking MTX. Very lethargic, migrainey and just crappy in general. I keep telling myself it'll be worth it (at some point) since I've only just started taking it and haven't seen the good just yet. Glad you're doing well otherwise! Maybe CBD oil? Helps me

It’s the little thinks that are making me believe I feel better. No kidney pain. No blood in the urine. No mouth ulcers or blisters. No skin rashes or irrritations.  But I’m so lethargic I’m almost useless. I have to make myself get up and go so I don’t melt into the furniture lol. I’ve been on plaquinil  and prednisone and methotrexate Since December, MTX for about 3 months. The prednisone helps a lot of the inflammation. I’d like to get off of it but....

    Hi Holly

I have been on Methotrexate injectons  25mg , along with prednisolone and other meds  for  over 10 months now and it has helped as my Vasculitis  is starting to go into remission . I felt like yourself at first and often had to write off two days . I still have off days but they are improving !! My injection day  I can often get a tummy upset and be tired in the morning but I feel it gets easier if that helps . The only thing for me was I  have been told I will be on it for about five years and the injection points can get messy  and badly bruised , also if you get any infection they take a long time healing .but hey it’s all better than the awful illnesses we have so please take care and best wishes , and be gentle with yourself on methotrexate day !!
