methotrexate & impotence

My boyfriend has been taking methotrexate in tablet form for 2 years but doctor decided to try injection form as tablets were not enough relief for arthritis.  Hence he started with impotence problems. Not ideal in any relationship so he stopped taking it about a month ago but things are still not 100% normal. Does anyone know how long it stays in your system for?  Any advice greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance. HS

    Hello Helen

    Metho.is lethal as well as aiding Arthritis it kills everything in its path.When injected it is even more effective.It should wear off in a couple of months.

    I have found sulfasalazine more effective for pain relief without the horrendous side effects of metho.

      Thank you Joyce.  He's trying a different drug now called cyclosporine so we hope things improve soon.
