Metoclopramide Hydrochloride 10 mg for gerd -

Posted , 4 users are following.

hi everybody - reading everyone's posts !

After a year of every gerd symptom and being diagnosed with h pylori then being prescribed triple therapy.   I have still been suffering with chest/ heartburn symptoms.

i have taken pantoprazole 40 mg which has helped with the feelings of lump in the throats and reflux after eating but hasn't cleared the chest burning sensations.

Has anyone had any experience taking Metoclopramide for bile reflux which I have been diagnosed with after endoscopy,

many thanks

Sue

The only cure for this is a Nissen fundiplication. PPIs are rubbish, prescribed by doctors because they cannot offer anything else.  My life changed after the fundiplication, all symptoms like you mention have gone entirely, I got my life back.  PPIs are a billion dollar industry now, and do nothing to cure the underlying problem (and a larege scale study has just convincingly established a link to cancer from long term PPI use).    This surgery is a real cure.

Im glad u found what works for u. Many happy days without the horrible condition.

Pls dont say ppi are bad as its not truth.

For some ppl they work well and are sufficient to help.

When they dont work then fundoplication is the next option. No one wants an operation unless needed.

There are ppl whos fundoplication didnt go according to plan.

Genuine gerd is chronic condition. It can only be managed.

There are more options than a fundiplication, you should refrain from offering incomplete advice.

      Hi katerina

      thank you for your reply

I was diagnosed after endoscopy with bile reflux - as the consultant at the time immediately after the procedure informed me that I had bile evidence which should be not be normally there.   This being due to a hiatus hernia and bile travelling to the oesophagus.   In fact he said it's in your chest and it should be in your stomach !

there are more treatment options than a fundiplication which which almost is almost certain to prevent you from belching or vomiting which would not be acceptable to me. If you are contemplating surgery investigate the Linx procedure.
