Microdiscectomy nearly 3 years ago, pain is back

Hi, so as the title states...I had a microdiscectomy for a prolapsed disc L5 ( I think it was) I had another disc either below or above that one which was slightly bulging but not enough for it to be removed. However, I know have back ache just to the right of my scar and sometimes the sciatic symptoms are there! The main issue for me is the back ache though! Could this all be related??

My husband who has had this op twice in 3 months as didn’t work first time was told categorically from surgeon it is not a cure for back ache but helps the sciatica pain.

Good luck, perhaps you need another mri ?

Yes, I remember that too I think 🤔 I just think it’s weird how the pain is localised to near where my scar is!

Yes I think maybe I do! Just hope the care is as good here as it was before I moved areas!
