I had surgery 9 Feb hammertoe, mallet toe and mild bunion. I assumed the pain in had permanently in my thigh was because of hobbling around with a raised medical shoe on. I had the pins out on Friday ad started to walk more over the weekend but the pain is still there on the inside of both legs from upper calf to upper thigh

Brenda. I can only assume at this point is your muscles in your thigh are taking a bit of a hammering with the mobilising. Mention it to your Doctor looking after you. Hope it gets better for you x

Hello, I am 30 days after midfoot fusion and still in plaster. I am on dvt injections clexane for 6 weeks, are you? If you are not, I would suggest calling 111 for a nurse assessment asap or speaking to your gp asap. If you have strong pain after surgery then always contact a health professional asap... I have had calf pain waking me from sleep due to immobilised despite clexane injections so I do the gentle calf exercises advised and leg stretching / bends at the knee to support circulation...if you're still worried, call someone now, whatever the time. All the best.

Hi Jo. Thank you for your reply yes. I'm doing stretches and bends as much as possible. It's definatly not a DVT, I am also a nurse so am keeping a close eye on it. I had clexane injections for a week. Just wondered if anyone was getting leg cramps. Otherwise I'm doing good, I'm back the hospital on Thursday so I'll mention it then. Hope you're recovery is going well. X

    Hi Tracy,

Thats great that you have that background...I used to do some healthcare work too so was making sure you were all safe! I had a fusion of 1st tmtj due to traumatic osteoarthritis and a ruptured lisfranc ligament missed 14 years ago. I have 3 permanent screws, 2 in the first tmtj and one to stabilise the lisfranc ligament. What did you have done and are you in a hard cast for the frist 6 weeks then an aircast boot? I was still needing pain relief up until week 4...but now I just take some at night so things are feeling better for me too.

      Hi

I had 2 no joint done with screws. Am in a hard cast for 8 weeks then a hopefully an air cast boot. Similar story a missed fracture and it  just got worn down and intense pain, being on my legs 10 hours a shift was killing me. I have no pain in my foot at all now. No pain killers from day 4 so I'm feeling positive about it all.

Lovely to hear from you x
