Midazolam for dental sedation and codeine

Posted , 1 user is following.

Hi there

I am due to have a tooth taken out under sedation (Midazolam) this week and on the forms it says not to take any medication such as opiates and benzodiazepines for 24 hours before and after the surgery.

I can manage without taking my Lorazepam completely, and I wont be too fussed about taking the codeine after the surgery, but Im not sure I can go the 24 hours before it without taking any codeine. I usually take between 40 and 60mg codeine a few times a day. Do you think this is an overly cautious disclaimer? Surely the small amount I take cant make much (if any) difference?

thanks
