Migraine?

Hi folks

Over the past load of months I have a recurring condition that I am looking some help with and wondering if this is a migraine?

I have been having some problems with my sinus's, face pressure, mild sore head but today the rest of the weirdness kicked off. Sorta started with a weird tightness at my neck and back of my head. Then as the day progressed it was getting steadily worse. Then the weird muscle thing started. Basically it feels like somebody is gripping my arm and making it go numb and weak and the same with my leg. Today was both the right side but it has been right arm left leg before. Then the nausea started and a few bouts of diarrhoea. I took some diazepam and an anti sickness med and went home. Been trying for the past hour to sleep with no joy. Currently typing this with one eye closed as there is a pain in behind my left eye. I think I've had about 8-10 attacks like this in the past 6 months.

Any help or advice appreciated

Thanks

Chris

Chris Also please look at an underlying auto immune disease as the cause. Hemiplegic migraine fits the bill but is often misdiagnosed when you actually have an auto immune disorder as I did. It is a often a long road to diagnosis but crucial for treating the problem as they have different causes. No classical migraine remedies worked for me as it wasn't conventional migraine. The neck pain etc were all features of my awful headache. No one was able to diagnose it for years until I saw an immunologist. First port of call for everyone with these issues is a neuro or a headache specialist. Unfortunately they can't diagnose these underying conditions.

I see you also suffer from other issues relating to the oesophagus which is another pointer to auto immune disease. You have a bit of a profile going on there. I wonder what kind of specialists you have seen and what kind of blood work has been done.

      Hi Margaret

Thanks for the reply. Umm I have saw a neurologist who thinks I am having partial seizures which doesn't fit. I've had an MRI and eeg and the vampires have taken multiple and multiple vials of blood and tested me for everything going as far as I know. I have saw a cardiologist and had all those tests. My heart is fine as well. The digestive issues is because I have a 6cm sliding hiatus hernia confirmed with an OGD.
