Hi new to this forum, started with migraine In 1998 lost sight in left eye, after various tests diagnosed with migraine, tried all sorts of meds and settled on

Epilim crono, then had some severe attacks about 2004, neurologist didn't examine me fully but changed meds to verapamil on low 60mg dose, settled again then early this year started with memory, speech and cognitive problems, doc increased veraoamil to 120mg, still no resolution, increased again to 160mg then to 320mg, terrible memory & speech probs hands going numb, cramps, insomnia, balance problems. Doc referred back to neurologist who wants to change meds without even examining me to topiramate, really worried and don't know what to do next??? Now only have migraines about once a month, anyone any ideas?

Hi, when I first lost sight had various tests done, no conclusive results. Since then symtoms have got better then worse in cycles. Sorry not sure what you mean by lp?

Really struggling to get any answers at the moment, will try to get gp to refer me to a different neurologist, current one seems to have a thing about trying different meds without even examining me?
