Migraines after working out.

hello,

so, I've suffered with migraines for many years now.

I'm quite overweight and I've been trying to lose weight for 3 years now (not consistently but ill get into that)

I keep trying to exercise, I make sure i drink lots of water during and after exercise.

its incredibly frustrating because as part of my college course i have to do my practical days at a farm, when the day is over, i have a migraine that lasts anywhere from 1 - 3 days.

its not just every so often after i work out, its every single time.

I dont want to be overweight anymore but im terrified to work out and be in pain for 3 days !

i want to lose weight so i can perform the best i can on my college course.

its very upsetting for me, it hinders my work, my weight, my social life and my mental health.

I only went for a walk yesterday with a few friends, we planned to drink alcohol afterwards and have a lil sesh but after 30 mins from when we came back i was doubled over in my friends bed with the lights off.

I feel very lucky that i have friends who understand, but it makes me sad that i cant do things that they want to do. 😦

any suggestions or ideas on why this happens?

I had similar issues with exercise induced migraines.

My heart rate would get quite high very quickly during exercise which would then trigger migraine pain. I was taking a calcium channel blocker then changed to a beta blocker. Both have helped greatly with exercise induced migraines. More so the beta blocker. Are you seeing a neurologist?

I'm not seeing a neurologist, nope.

I've been to my doctors and gotten my glasses prescriptions changed more than I'd like to count, the most they ever do at my doctors is give me more tablets, I've never even been for an MRI, Bearing in mind ive had migraines for 10 years .....

im 20 now and im sick of my life being controlled by migraines.

I highly recommend seeing a neurologist and probably having an MRI to ensure there is nothing going on that has been missed. A good neurologist can help tremendously. It took me a while to find a good one. I wouldn't be able to function at all without specialist help. Good luck 😃
