Anyone ever had "Mild Sloughing of the Esophagus Lining come as a result of an upper endoscopy? There isn't much info online about it so hoping someone here has more info on the results..

Unfortunately I haven't heard of that. I just had my endoscopy done yesterday with biopsies of my throat and stomach taken with no abnormalities found. I, myself, think I'm having esophageal spasms so I'm looking more into that. I just know that my throat constantly feels like it's closing in on me (for about 7 months now) with ALL other tests coming out negative (Strep, flu, west nile, HIV, thyroid, bacterial, mononucleosis, meningitis - heart, lungs and all other organs are well. Endoscopy shows no signs of GERD or anything else going on). Now I'm moving on to see an ENT, I guess. I hope you figure out what that means and can begin to remedy it. This is so frustrating!

I'm not sure what your other symptoms are but have you heard of Sjogrens Syndrome? It's an autoimmune disease that typically takes 5 plus years to diagnose (7 for me) and the major sympotms are dry mouth and dry eyes. I have it and not only do I have severe dry mouth and dry eye but I get chronic sinutis and upper respitory innefections. But one thing I feel is the closing of the throat which I think is because of SS. Just another thought for you to look into. I hear ENTs often diagnose it, mine was diagnosed by an eye doctor after 7 plus years of looking for answers.

The first several weeks when this started, I was experiencing the throat closing in feeling and nausea without vomiting, SEVERE fatigue and a constant mild fever. My doctor suggested I take Zantac thinking it was caused my acid reflux but this really upset my stomach. Months into it I started having constant and severe chest pain and what felt like pressure in my chest.

I've done SO many tests it's ridiculous. Everything comes back 'normal'. Now into month 7 and I'm only having problems with my throat. It just constantly feels like it's closing in on me. Eating helps, so does sucking on a lozenge but obviously I cannot do this ALL the time. I have no problems with my eyes or mouth being dry. Although my throat does feel dry at times.

I finally got an appointment with an ENT but it's not until April 10th, unfortunately. Hopefully he can help me, because so far, no one else has been able to sad
