Mildly elevated ALT, while other enzymes were normal, is it a problem?

Hi All,

I did my routine blood work 3 weeks back. The doctor found mildly elevated ALT 71  (normal range 7-60) while AST 35 (normal range 5-40), ALP, GGT were in normal range. And, vitamin D3 levels were lower. Then she suggested me to do another blood work 3 weeks later. I did that and found ALT 70 and AST 30. As my ALT levels were mildly elevated two times, she has called for ultrasonogram, hepatitis, glucose, cholesterol, and bilirubin tests.

I am 27 years old male, I don't drink and don't feel any discomfort except mild gastritis problem. I got my hepatitis B shot around 11 years back.

Doctor told me its not a big problem, however as I am concerned that's why she is going for this further tests.

I would like to know, does this mildly elevated enzyme mean a chronic problem is going on or it something normal?

It should not be a problem , sometimes it can be elevated if you have eaten something that is not liked by liver. This is not much concerning .... as your other tests ...like bilirubin will tell you more.

I had a similar problem 2/3 years ago, was tested for about every known thing possible I think, except vitamin D levels, eventually they just decided it was me LOL on to this year after I had been on adcal-3 for about 6 months because of a fracture my LFs were OK and red palms nearly normal but vitamin D levels are still not completely normal, I think I have decided that it was the reason for my erratic liver function tests.

Would be interesting to see what would happen to yours if you took adcal-3

So my third blood work came.. ALT was 65 shich reduced from previous results (was 71), other enzymes were normal. Hepatitis A, B, C negative.

However, in Ultrasonogram radiologist found two small linear echogenicities in the right lower lobe and he mentioned these are small granulomata. He suggested to repeat usg after 6 months.

Now, I am very tensed about these granuloma. Will it create any problem? Should I go for any further tests or second opinion?
