Mine went very well

I'm sorry so many people have had a negative experience. I had my left hand done last Wed (7 days ago) and the results are exactly what I had hoped. Numbness and tingling are completely gone. I had moderate incision pain for the first few days but its subsided and hand flexibility is now almost identical to my other hand, even with the stitches still in.

It was a local anesthetic and 1 inch incision, open style. I think this helped: I elevated my hand for the first 2 days and started frequent stretching and finger exercises even before the anesthetic wore off.

That's all great news. It's a very frequent operation, but the majority of people that get it done never consider writing about the experiences on a forum. You get a biased view reading forums as generally you are more likely to be reading about problems as people check if others had the same problems and how it was cured or helped.

It's great when the positive can be heard as well, from people like yourself. I hope it continues to improve and you can let us all know how it progresses.

I concur with William. I am 5 weeks post op in my right hand. I am completely healed and cured so far. No issues to report. My incision site still feels a little tight but it gets easier every day. As long it is stays like this I am 100% pleased with the result.

i had mine done 3/26 did the exact thing you did eluvated for 2/3  days due to pain as i only took a few motrin 800. started moving my fingers the same day of opt. and slowy using all of them as doing pretty good now 6 days post opt, but  i still have tingly in 3 fingers but feel as time goes by healing porocess that will subside. not sure what my incision looks like as bandages come off Friday. little sore in wrist area but nurse said it could be from bandages.

As far as this Forum, really sorry some ppl had such BAD outcomes, as when i 1st started reading some of these post scared the xxxx out of me. my son told me to STOP reading them which i did.  So its really good to hear some positive. I went through hell for a year as i had a severe case of CTS as my thumb muscles were deteriorating , so once bandages come off guess thats the real test?

I had my left hand done on jan 16, and have had problems since then. The incision site is still very tender and I still experience some pain in grasping things and my thumb remains weak. I am having to use my left hand more these days because I had my right hand done on March 25th and the cast doesn't come off until April 7th. I have noticed that with this hand I'm not noticing the same progress as I did with the left, but I am aware it can take time if it was worse than the other hand. I also had some anesthesia related issues with this surgery that I dudnt experience with my surgery in January.

I am also in the progress of trying to get my employer to provide me with a better workstation to prevent future flare ups but they are giving me a hard time and wanting all these papers filled out and then there is a possibility that I wouldn't even get approved for this ergonomic workstation.
