Mini Mono vision for near intermediate

Hi

I am 53, have just done ( 3 days ago) my second cataract surgery to my left eye.

The right eye was done about a week earlier.

currently the results are :

Right eye : -2.25 D

Left eye : -1.5 D

My dominant eye is the right eye.

Its very comfortable to read with my right dominant eye - i am not feeling the blur in the second eye.

However, when reading the comp or looking more distant, using my non dominant eye, especially at low light condition, I do see the blur from my right eye. Is it just a matter of time to adapt to this ?

wow, what state do you live in? I'm from NYC and they stopped such surgeries march 16!! I just made it in time on march 12 to get my 2nd eye done. at that time there were only 2 positive corona at that hospital. And I knew things would get worse each hour!!

Hi Roni...I had my cataract surgeries in March and April of 2019. My left dominant eye was corrected for distance and my right eye for intermediate range. Although I have good vision in both eyes, when using my intermediate vision, I still to this day have the blur from my distant eye. Its like my dominant eye does not allow the other eye to fully take over. I don't experience this blur when using distance vision. I was hoping my brain would adapt and this would resolve with time but, after a year, I don't think that's likely to happen. It's not disabling at all but it is annoying. I hope, with time, your blur will resolve.

      Hi cazms

      Thanks that's an important input.

Whats the Dioptr difference in your case ?

After surgery, my left eye was close to plano and my right eye was 1.25. After a year, my distance vision does not seem quite as sharp but is still good. I forgot to mention previously that I believe some of the blur I sense in my left eye is due to floaters.
