Mini Panic Attack in shower

Posted , 4 users are following.

Just came out of the shower and I’m taking time to respond to everything. I felt my mind was disconnected from me and I went and took a shower and I feel connected to my body but I’m feeling “regulated” as I type this I still feel slow and am walking slowly. I felt my heart heavy and faster than usual in the shower.

Any tips and what should one experience after a panic attack or cool down of a panic attack

We all feel regulated, welcome to the real world. It was good you had a shower, the warmth of the water will help your blood flow and that is normal, sometimes people feel a little breathless after a shower and will feel their heart beat , this is normal

Have a sit down and relax the heavy feeling will go, make a cup of tea and relax, it seems you have had a really good hot soak

YES SOUNDS LIKE  the beginning of a panic attack i use de to hate then I overcame panic attacks one year ago with mindfulness  and thinking positive  something that help me a lot was when you feel  like a panic is coming stay in the moment like if you cleaning keep cleaning don't stop doing  what you doing just keep doing your activity and let the feelings the systom come  and go away try to focus. On the present and let those feelings and systom come and go out of your mind and body just accept  the feeling  It will go away I promise I been there I know is hard but try your best that's how I overcame panicks  make sure you get enough sleep  not getting sleep can give you more anxiety and panic

Mindfulness was what I did after I posted this heh. I calmed down a bit after and played games online with friends to keep me distracted. I started thinking negatively and existential thoughts and I think I trigerred a panic episode.

A racing heart was what I experienced but I experienced no fear. Only thought I had during the racing heartbeat was “oh dang we’re those thoughts that trigerred a panic attack?” I felt a little depersonalization I didn’t feel I was in control of myself and that I was watching everything through glass
