Mini Pill vs. Combination Pill --advice please

So I believe I am going through Perimenopause- my doctors are sceptical because of my age (33) but I swear it explains ALL of the craziness that has consumed my life the past couple of years. Recently I have been experiencing an increase in anxiety/stress and have done some research but would like some actual feedback. I have been on the combination pill since I was 17 due to super irregular periods. Some research I've done shows where the pill can contribute to anxiety/stress levels. I am nervous about stopping the pill cold turkey due to how bad my periods were in my teen years plus my husband and I feel like we are done having kids and this is a nice way to help with that. I've tried to get feedback from my doctor about the mini pill and if it would be any better for my anxiety/stress, headaches, and other peri symptoms but haven't got much of a response. Do y'all have any advice? If I did just quiet the pill in general is there a supplement that helps regulate periods? Also, I have been having some heart flutters on and off the last couple of days, would this help with that in anyway? Just hoping for some actual feedback from people who get it and have been through it. Any other advice is appreciated. Thanks!

Hi PreemiePowered, All the craziness you are experiencing, I would have to agree, has to do with menopause. I am 51, and still get my periods. My Dr says the same to me that the bloodwork does not show that I am going through it, but I know my body and my body says otherwise. Let's see.... the last couple of years I have had depression, anxiety(just recently really bad), heart flutters, fatigue, nauseous, upper back pain, low abdominal pain, loss of libido, loss of appetite, gum issues, and most recently itchy skin. It's all horrible!! Some days I feel like I'm dying. My dr did prescribe Sertraline, which has helped a great deal with the anxiety and the depression. I have never been on the pill so I don't have any advise there other than, have you tried coming off of the pill to see if maybe over time your periods aren't as bad as they were? (just something to think about)

My periods through the years were heavy flow for 5 days. Now, it only last 3-4 days with only 1 heavy day. They are irregular sometimes, getting it twice in a month but I believe that is due to menopause.

What we have to go through is horrible!!

I hope that what I am experiencing helps you to understand that you are not alone.

Hope things get better for you!

Headaches, indegestion /GERD, some heart flutters at times, my anxiety just started getting worse for no reason, I have experienced what I call 'mini' hot flashes- I feel super flushed and think I must have a fever or something but my temp is always perfect and after an hour or so it kinda fades away, i am currently on the pill but over the last year I've noticed my periods have gotten way lighter than in the past , loss in sex drive, my doctor did bloodwork to check numbers but I'm on the pill so she said the numbers aren't reliable. I feel like most days I'm in a brain fog and I just want to feel like my normal self again

Hi. I also tried the mini pill, they helped with my endo/adeno symptoms but not really with my anxiety and its physical symptoms. Anxiety is my worst peri symptom so far because it comes with so many different aches and pains everywhere. Not to mention the racing ❤️ and mind. What's working at the moment for me is a combo of antidepressant and anti anxiety. I kinda feel like me again before this hell.
