Mirena coil experience and advise needed please!

Hi I had the mirena coil fitted on 2nd October 2014 and had it removed today 19th dec 14 as I couldnt cope with the way I was feeling.

ive always suffered with heavy painful periods and after having a baby a year ago the doc suggested the mirena was ideal for me.

Well after having it fitted I bled for 3 weeks none stop then it would stop for a day then start again for another few days. I bled more days than not and it just wasn't inproving. I also started feeling really down, crying for no reason, anxious, really bad headaches that wouldn't go even with taking pain killers, aching in my tummy, lower back and down my legs, tired all the time with no energy, and just having the "can't be bothered mood" all the time.

im normally a very happy bubbly person but lately just not feeling myself atall.

i decided to go back to my doc today and explain how I've been feeling, I decided this week that I just wanted the coil taking out. My doc removed the coil there and then.

i was just wondering if anyone else has experienced anything like I have and if they returned back to there usual self after having the coil removed?

thank you in advance

Hi Julie, thank you for your reply I really appreciate it smile

i didn't think the doctor would take it out there and then but I said I just want it out. Mine was in 11 weeks but I can't go on feeling like I do plus having a baby to look after to. The doctor did say things will settle down after 6 months but Ive had enough now.

You've done really well keeping it in that long smile well done smile

I had it removed yesterday so am hoping to feel back to normal soon, am going to leave it afew months then look into having something else.

      Thank you again

Ah I have had the mirena coil since October 1st, Iv also been suffering belly cramps, sore breasts, my muscles feel restless but that's only happened a couple of days, I have headaches now and again, & it's so stressful as I suffer with health anxiety too, so the symptoms don't help. And tonight sorry for tmi Iv gone to the toilet and bleeding bright red blood for the first time since having the coil is this normal xx
