Mirena drama

Hi. After some other peoples mirena experiences. Mine was fitted January 2021. Erratic spotting on and off for 16 months. Not all the time, sometimes gaps of 6 weeks plus but other times spotting could linger for 2 weeks or more before disappearing for a while.

Back to docs and following a clear smear/swabs and ultrasound decided maybe this is just how I will be on it. 4 weeks time off on holiday/wedding (postponed because of pandemic twice...!) I've been given 3 months of microgynon to take back to back while still having the mirena in situ to try and resolve any issue while away. No spotting or anything since the end of April. Don't know what to do?! Do I see if this might finally have settled by itself or start the microgynon as well regardless? Wonder if the hormones will send everything haywire or not? Anyone else in this situation??
