hi ann . the trouble with people and medication in all to many cases whats good and works well for some may not be the same for another it sounds like they are experimenting with medication that best suit you which they do but at the same time doesn't help you . all i can say is be careful and look for negative affects when they try new medications for you . gps don't know it all and everybodys different and medication affects people in different ways . these forums help people like yourself and many others and are good in alot of ways from mistakes from gps to what to expect from medication from others even thou we are all different in DNA and the affects on medication we take . to people in the same boat has yourself . do not let it get you down and chin-up has we all now to well. it was nice talking to you and i hope you feel beter soon . i am on here most days if you want to chat . the power of self asteem is huge and wish you well.

now dr says up the mirtaz and add in augmentation of olanzapine, or maybe risperidone or ariprazole, he plumped for olanzapine, dont know why. I am not happy having read about its side effects. How do i proceed? Will he take offence if i question him

hi ann do you mean diazepam is usually only used short term you probibly don't like mirt at the moment but i think by 2 week you should be feelings lifted and your sleep pattern should be better 30 mins before bed if you do go on that olanzapine i would wait until the 15mg mirt is in your system because you mite not need the olanzapine i would be very careful it could give you more symptoms that you don't want. it seems a bit extreme med alterations . if you try the new med go slow with it and if you have any unwanted side affects just tell your gp the medications not for me then give him a reason for it like you have a fast heart beats and hot swets then he will have to change it to something else. olanzapine is a extreme med in my view i would feel happier if he would have put just the mirt up doctors can move to quickly at times your body needs to ajust its chemistry .

Well that was a mistake, since increasing mirtaz from just 7.5 to 15mg the nightmares have become so vivid and disturbing, its as if its twisting my brain. I am at a loss what to do, been on this for two years , always had the nightmares but dropped it down which helped but didnt do anything for anxiety in daytime. I just feel i cannot take anymore of this stuff, i need to get a sleep but not like this. I am now afraid to add in the olanzapine in case i go completely mad. Will obviously try to speak to psych after holiday but so scared of everything, maybe I should have just gone down the 'no meds' route.
