hi ann .  the trouble with people and medication in all to many cases whats good and works well for some may not be the same for another it sounds like they are experimenting with medication that best suit you which they do but at the same time doesn't help you . all i can say is be careful and look for negative affects when they try new medications for you . gps don't know it all and everybodys different and medication affects  people in different ways . these forums help people like yourself and many others  and are good in alot of ways from mistakes from gps to what to expect from medication from others even thou we are all different in DNA and the affects on medication we take . to people in the same boat has yourself . do not let it get you down and chin-up has we all now to well. it was nice talking to you and i hope you feel beter soon . i am on here most days if you want to chat . the power of self asteem is huge and wish you well.

You said i could get back to you.

now dr says up the mirtaz and add in augmentation of olanzapine, or maybe risperidone or ariprazole, he plumped for olanzapine, dont know why.  I am not happy having read about its side effects. How do i proceed? Will he take offence if i question him

Hi, i have anxiety and depression.  Mirtaz up to 15 now, feel awful in mornings.  He did give me the option of no drugs at all but my inability to engage with cbt hasnt helped there. I am also scared of stopping 5mg diaz as ive been on it three years now.  I believe mirtaz is difficult to come off too. I wish i could be med free but it seems impossible to sleep without them, or get through anxiety of the day.

hi ann  whats  diaz ? i can't even find the med in the prescription index .what have you tryed yourself to combat anxiety and depression are you a keep fit type of person i say that because i have found that it's helped me alot having a direction of interest to yourself that works for you  a change in routine instead of the four walls do you have friend's that understands  you and helps  you by just being there for you.

hi ann do you mean diazepam  is usually only used short term   you probibly don't like mirt at the moment but i think by 2 week you should be feelings  lifted and your sleep pattern should be better 30 mins before bed if you do go on that olanzapine i would wait until the 15mg mirt is in your system because you mite not need the olanzapine i would be very careful it could give you more symptoms that you don't want. it seems a bit  extreme med alterations . if you try the new med go slow with it and if you have any unwanted side affects just tell your gp the medications not for me then give him a reason for it like you have a fast heart beats  and hot swets then he will have to change it to something else. olanzapine is a extreme med in my view i would feel happier if he would have put just the mirt up doctors can move to quickly at times your body needs to ajust its chemistry .

I have become so low that i cannot do anything pleasurable any more. I have three good friends who keep in touch, one takes me out each week and tries to suggest different things, im not always up for it, but try.  My husband takes me out each day even though i dont really want to go.  Horrid life for all involved.   Used to do yoga but cant face classes now.  I am getting vibes from several to not take olanzapine as its very strong.  Will try mirtaz upping first.

Well that was a mistake, since increasing mirtaz from just 7.5 to 15mg the nightmares have become so vivid and disturbing, its as if its twisting my brain. I am at a loss what to do, been on this for two years , always had the nightmares but dropped it down which helped but didnt do anything for anxiety in daytime.  I just feel i cannot take anymore of this stuff, i need to get a sleep but not like this.  I am now afraid to add in the olanzapine in case i go completely mad.  Will obviously try to speak to psych after holiday but so scared of everything, maybe I should have just gone down the 'no meds' route.

hi ann.  i do know what your going through and its tuff i know it well . but i am surprised at your gp not acting sooner i see it has it could have been avoided and not left you in the state you have become if you have just upped the mirt it can take awhile for the full affect of the dose when regulated  even doses over time are taken medication works over time and it sounds like you have not had time to adjust to one thing at once a psych nurse once told me medication only accounts for 20% the other 80% is down to you and its true . and you know your own body well better than a gp so you will know what helping or whats not . the olanzapine will probibly just make you more sleepy mirt works has a brain/nerve relaxer and lifts you up but diaz it sound like its not working  or doing you any good at the moment one thing i have to come to terms with the pain development process needs to stop and your nerves  back to normal has soon has poss. sometimes we have to be stronger than the pain and frustration  it can produce. a no med policy is wrong for you but you are not going mad. just medication issues been left to spiral. you keep that chin-up and keep smiling. hey.

Hi, i am still the same. Saw psych last week who advised to try again to increase mirtazapine to 15mg.  I have gone a week and feel awful. He wants me to try to replace diazepam when i feel anxious with a small, mirtazapine as well.  I just cannot do,this. Its is too sedating for daytime. I feel lost and totally nobody understands how ill,I feel. My oldest friend is now distancing from me as she obviously feels i am not doing enough to help myself.  I just cannot get myself better.
