Mirtazapine Withdrawal....anxiety and agitation question

Posted , 4 users are following.

Going through the absolute horrors day in and day out. 22 days completely off. Is it normal to have the amount of agitation I'm having? It is constant and only relieved for 5 to 6 hours during sleep which I'm taking Zopiclone for. I hear lots about extreme anxiety but not so much about agitation. Can't concentrate on anything! Any advice appreciated

Ive got tinnitis now which im scared is permanent and this horrible burning/ tingling sensation. i do get anxious and agitation and feel like not going out cause its bad. I think its just time we need to allow our bodies to heal. its not a quick fix

Well done on getting to 22 days off. It may be the zopiclone - everyone is different but I get agitation and anxiety the day after taking zopiclone - to the point that, even though it is amazing for sleep, I'm unable to take it as it makes me feel so rotten. Diazepam and temazepam suit me better but obviously I need to be careful as they are only for short term use.

We ought to start a support thread for those if us trying to get off mirtazapine.

I had extreme agitation on mirtazipine - my theory is because it increases (stops the reuptake) of non-adrenaline which is the fight or flight hormone. After 3 weeks on it (30mg) I could only listen to white noise and pace round the house). I then decided to taper and my agitation reduced until I jumped off at 3.75mg. Then had to get crisis support and they have given my diazapam for short term use which has removed agitation and helped reinstate sleep without Zopiclone. Perhaps Zopiclone also adding to the agitation.
