Mirtazipine…best way to come off quickly? Scared of WD

i have read lots if threads on here about tapering off mirtazipine. so have some idea but I'm also just scared by some of what i read so thought id reach out.

I've been on it since february, started on 7.5 for a week or so then upped to 15mg. My doc asked me to increase to 30mg in april but i don't want to and so i remain at 15mg. I have GAD, EUPD and recurrent depression.

My anxiety has been better on it, and my mood a little lighter but whilst it works for my anxiety i still feel depressed and dip in and out of suicidal ideation frequently.

when i started it in February i also joined a gym, i go 3-4 times a week, eat pretty well and have an active job. but in 3/4 i have gained almost a stone and I've never been this big before and it is only adding to my depression and self loathing.

i want to be off it completely before my next med review on 6th sept.

i have tonight only taken 7.5mg. so I've halved it, and plan to take this dose for the next week and see how i go, if im ok, i will continue with 7.5 for another week or so before then halving it again to 3.75mg. with a view to continue that for a two weeks, then reduce again for s week before stopping completely....is this an ok plan?

also if anyone has any suggestions as to what med to try after id be keen to know. i don't love being dependent on meds, but i have accepted that i likely will need them for the rest of my life and im ok with that if they help me live a more fulfilled life with my family.

thanks in advance
