Misdiagnosed 40 years ago, in pain since.

I've had cervical spondylosis for over 40 years, diagnosed about 30 years ago. I had an unusual incident which from scans in recent years, it has been deduced that my neck was broken and never healed properly.

I've been in pain most of this time but in absolute agony and unable to move at times.  I've also latterly been diagnosed with fibromyalgia, by the way.  It took me ten years to get an x ray done on my neck but 3 scans on, it was realised there was more to it than just wear and tear.

I've been advised to sue but am unsure as it would depend upon the court as to whether or not they felt it was viable.  The time limit doesn't always apply and is up to the discretion of the courts.

I'd appreciate any comments/advice/whatever about this.

Thanks cool

    Hi NANANEENAW

You have nothing to lose and everything to gain as they say! Sorry to hear about your neck shocking and aslo neglect. My friend has fybromyalgia and she says people think she is putting it on but i have seen her when she is really poorly. You have one the one hand been lucky walking around with a broken neck! A wrong move and you could have been paralised? It does not bear thinking about. I hope you get advised on the right thing to do for you and no one else. Good luck with whatever you choose and take care and welcome to this site smile Ther is a site for fybromyalgia if you look it up.

Thanks for your reply Jeanette smile    I'm on various fibro groups and have quite a few friends with fibro too, so I feel quite well supported by them but it's always harder to get support from the medical profession, sadly.

I shall have to do a lot of thinking about sueing as I'm so uncertain about taking it on.

      Nice to be welcomed smile
