Hi guys

I had a band fitted 3 days ago and while the pain is quite tolerable I am absolutely starving sad this is having a negative affect on my attitude and mood and at times I feel a bit of regret of having it done๐Ÿ˜• can anyone tell me if this is normal and will it pass??

    Hi Nat

    I had mine done Saturday

I'm not feeling too good, feeling sick and in some pain.

I have managed a yogurt and a cup a soup today so not doing too badly.

I'm feeling a little sorry for myself but I know that the first two weeks will be the hardest.

I think that it's normal to experience these emotions. We have taken such a drastic step to change our lives for the better.

Just remember we are not alone in this journey

Keep your chin up I'm sure that it will get better soon

Thanx Lissa ๐Ÿ˜Šit's good to know I'm not alone.

Are you able to drink a full cup a soup in one go? I can only manage a few small sips of a liquid before my gas pain comes back with a vengeance ๐Ÿ˜ž Xx

It took me 2hrs to eat a small yogurt

And about an hour or so to drink the soup

The trapped wind is painful but I just keep getting up and moving around to get rid of some of it

I still can't lie down and have been sitting up to sleep, that's annoying but things can only get better.

Are you on the blood thinner injections?

I had to start injecting myself this morning.

I am unfortunately lol only 2 more to do thank god! Lol

I'm just desperate to feel normal again, I'm the opposite lying down is best for me, I'm just concerned at how hungry I am n how much I'm thinking about food I didn't expect to feel like this. I've lost a stone since last Monday (inc pre op) but I feel pretty grim ๐Ÿ˜ญnot sure I will make work tomorrow as planned. Even tho I gave a desk job it's the sitting that's killer!

My hubby has just bought me some anti wind medicine so I'm hopeful it will fix me up.

Wasn't expecting this emotional turmoil post op ๐Ÿ˜ž xx

My husband just came back with wind ease and more pain relief. Better than flowers any day. Lol

I took 2 weeks off work as one definitely not enough. Even though I'm at a desk all day I don't think I would cope

If I were you I would take off a few more days at least.

Need to give yourself enough time to heal.

Most people I have been talking to have taken 2 weeks

I didn't have any liquid put in my band during surgery so I expect to see my appetite back in a day or so. Then things will probably get harder.

God I know day time tv is the worst

I keep checking my work emails out of boredom.

The dietician called me today. She didn't say much just advised me to call if I have any problems

I don't even want to think about my first fill.

The thought freaks me out at this stage. ๐Ÿ˜จ

I'm just taking things day by day and then week by week.

Hopefully I'll be fine to go back to work after Easter

I had my gastric band fitted on Jan 13th. The first 2 weeks are the worst. You can't sleep lying down, moving can be painful and the wind is a pain.

However, nearly 3 months on and I'm up for my second band fill and the memories of the first few weeks post Op are like a distant memory.

This is the BEST decision I've ever made. Nearly 3 stone lighter and feeling healthier than I ever have, yes sometimes I feel like I could woof down a packet of chocolate biscuits and feel sad that I can't do that any more, but to be honest, those feelings a few and far between.

I can breathe better at night, have stopped snoring and can run up a flight of stairs which are benifits I'd rather not give up for biscuits.

Yes, it's tough at times, but keep going, dont give up, you CAN do this and it gets better with tine.

We all felt like this at first and you're not alone. We are all here if and when you need us.

Good luck with your journey and no doubt we'll be hearing how well you're doing in the coming months. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š
