Missed a few tablets and now feeling really low .. anyone else had this?

I've been on this for 3 months after I was severely depressed. After 6 weeks of starting I felt really good..depression totally lifted... I was amazed. Now thought I've missed a probably 8 tablets in the past 3 weeks and I'm starting to feel down.

I went out on Friday night, got really drunk and as usual on saturday I felt really low but I know that was the alcohol as it's a depressant and I know I shouldn't drink (it's only socially but still not good).

Has anyone else found that after a few month on this anti-D the depression comes back? or is it just because I;ve missed tablets?

    Hi Emma,

You shouldn't miss any tablets even though you're feeling better. It's great that the tablets were working but you need to discuss with your doctor about coming off the medication gradually, you can't just stop taking it as you will feel depressed again.

    Hi Emma.

I find everytime I miss tablets for a couple of days that I have this happen and I get the same with drinking. I recently missed 2 months of tablets and because I was really happy I didn't think it mattered then about a week before Christmas I hit a wall and was back to square one again. So hang on in there and keep taking the tablets

    Hi

You didn't say what meds you are on.

But if you miss it will have an effect and bring you mood down.

Your tablets have a certain amount of time active in your body.

This will make a difference on how they work for you.

I know if I miss a few days I am ok but if I miss say a week my mood goes down.

I don't always see it but others do.

It's also hard because when you are feeling well it's hard to keep taking them and that can make you go down.but stay strong and take them as instructed. When you have a low day just think tomorrow I will have a better day. Good luck
