Missed doses of citalopram help!!!!!

I missed 3 days of citalopram now I'm suffering bad. how long does it take for it to get back into system I've been taking it everyday again for the last 6 days and I'm getting horrible side effects again. does it get better ????? thank you it takes 35 hours for half the dose to leave system so I wasn't taking it for 3 days so my levels went down to 20mg as in on 40mg xxx

    Citalopram is not a strong medication and it does not make you addicted which is a big pro. However as it is a (i think!) SSRI it does mess with your hormone levels so withdrawal effects are very common.

    I used to take citalopram for almost a year and i usually got extremely dizzy and nauseous whenever i missed a few doses.

    But this should not be a big deal since it gets back into your system quite soon. I would advise starting off fresh with a rather small dose as you have not been taking it for long yet and then gradually increase the dose to the amount recommended by your doctor.

    If the medication itself does give you side effects, maybe talk to your doctor, although slight nausea is one of the most common side effects in the first month of taking it.
