Hi Sarah could well be, some women just stop having periods, some get heavy then gradually lighter before they stop all together.  You will need to have a few more missed periods to say for sure as other things could be causing  your missed ones, pregnancy being one of them but at 47 probably not! Moodiness along with other symptoms is def one of the signs. feels like pmt but with no period.

Hi, it sound like you could be entering peri.  I hav emissed 2 periods, and 4 periods, but they came back sad...lately doubling up in a month...they do become random for sure.  But i would make sure there is no other cause of a missed period.   If all is ok, then i would say you are entering peri, and moodiness is certainly a symptom along with the cramps and then nothing starts.  If you find a hard time as you go through this, these ladies here are such a help, and to know your not alone is a tremdendous help smile...feel well smile

Hi Sarah and other ladies!   I am 49, have not missed yet but have has some variability.   Last month 35 days.   Heavy flow.   And this is why I am posting.   Heavy flow can mean your iron stores are depleting.   Have your Serum FERRITIN checked.    Low ferritin can cause fatigue and also scalp hair loss.   Leading cause of hair loss in women.   Mimics androgenic hair loss pattern.   Miniaturizes follicles, etc.    your GP probably is clueless about actual "good" levels.   The "normal lab range" may be 20-90.   But if you are below 40 you will have hair loss.  Once your cycles cease and the blood loss stops it should be less of an issue.    Retest then and stop supplementing if it is 70. Proferrin ES is a polypeptide which helps quickly to raise.   B12 is important too.   Natural good quality colostrum, like immune tree, has lactoferrin which helps raise also.   But do not buy a synthetic lactoferrin as it contains no iron but will bind what you have.

Thanks Michelle could have done with this info a few years ago. Like you say periods can vary to very heavy flows, i had this for years and not once was my Serum FERRITIN checked, never even heard of this.  As you say gp cluless no doubt.

    Hi Sarah,

Did your GP shed any light?  I'm in a similar situation, I've missed two periods now and am bloating, cramping in tummy, mood swings, lack of motivation, nil energy. Aching and fatigued. Blurgh. I feel rotten.

I'm so glad to have found you guys.
