Missed pills or no?

In the midst of all the post hip replacement hoopla, I can't remember if I took my Pred this morning or not. 4 mg.

What would you do? Go ahead and take it or wait till tomorrow? Damn.

I take it is about lunchtime with you? I'd take it - taking a double dose at that level will not cause any problems. On the other hand - not taking the dose may leave you feeling rather rough later or tomorrow morning. Time for a weekly pill dosette box maybe?

Hi Eileen - it does say on my data sheet:

" If you forget to take a dose, take one as soon as you remember and then your next dose at the usual time.  Never take two doses at the same time."

Take your point about leaving and taking it late, thats if you were sure your did'nt take dose this morning?  It's about 4 o'clock in the UK!!

It is - but Gail is in the US!

And actually - taking 2 doses at the same time on alternate days is a perfectly recognised way of taking pred! Many people are taking pred 3 times a day - then taking two would not be a good idea or even necessary - it all depends on WHY you are taking it and, to some extent, what the dose is. 4mg is a very low dose - and even double is still pretty low,

It does say if you are not sure don't take and carry on till the next day.  Might be a good ideal to have a pill container and top-up the same day each week?

After my recent experience forgetting to take a dose I say take a dose straight away - a double dose won't hurt but missing a dose sure will!

THANKS, ALL! I DID TAKE IT AND STILL DON'T  KNOW IF IT WAS A SINGLE OR DOUBLE DOSE. Oops. Didn't mean to yell. Pill box suggestions well-taken!
