Missing a dose for one night

Hey all wonder if someone could help please. I started taking sertraline Monday. My last tablet was last night. But im going to a friends tonight and dont want to be a party pooper and not drink. This only the second time ive been on anti depressants. The last time was last year due to me grans death. Anybody think it be ok to miss just the once and be ok?

    hi Nicknack.....Have you run out of tablets?There's no way I would intentionally skip a dose.Are you thinking of skipping a dose because you're worried it'll intereact with alcohol?You already have Sertraline in your system anyway from having been taking them since Monday.Perhaps it may be prudent,provided you have more tablets,to take your dose as normal and limit your alcohol intake?Do be careful,I don't want to worry you,but best not to mess with medication.All the best.Sally x

      Hi Sally thank you for your reply hun. I know what you are saying but its just me and a friend having a drink. I wantt to get better but i don't wanna go all christmas without one night without having a drink i feel awful for not drinking and leaving my friend to just drink on his own

    Remember...YOU are JUST as important as your friend!..Don't wanna be a killjoy but if he is a true friend he would be concerned that you are doing what's right for you!I love a drink but I've been to some not very nice places having drank way too much on top of medication!Just take care.Sally x

      Thank you very much for your kind words sally its very much appreciated hun xx. What would you recommend i do. Would 3-4 drinks be ok? i won't go over the top x

      I wouldn't exceed 3!1...And have something to eat and drink some water if you can!!!x x

    My doc said a couple of drinks is fine on these.  Not sure what others experience have been. As yet I haven't drank on them yet tho

      Me either natalie. I never drank last christmas been on meds with me Gran dieing on the 4th Dec which was a very hard time. And this year i got my symptoms back. So i don't wanna go all christmas without few drinks x

    I am also getting married in February and not sure I'll be able to drink on hen weekend or at wedding!!
