    Hey Tracey,

It gets worse before it gets better unfortunately, when I 1st started I was told by the lovely people on here to expect the side effects to last longer. During the 1st couple of weeks for me I was all over the shop. Although for me personal this med was not for me for various reasons but it has helped a little but to start off with I was just like you all over the shop. Stick with it and when you feel you need to take time out do it. I would end up having a nap during the day and it helped me able to get up in afternoon early evening and do daily jobs that we need to do. Also when you are around friends and family let them know you might need a bit of time out. It does get better. Someone described to me that the meds are trying to rewire your brain but to do that they need to unwire them to connect them back properly. So the initially couple of weeks means your brain is all over. Hope that makes sense

unfortunately it will feel pretty rough for some time 6 days are so early give about few weeks for initial side effects to subside. the increased anxiety and low mood is normal it's how citalopram works. keep up with it maybe you will be one of the lucky people who will stop having side effects pretty quick. if not dont get discouraged. getting on cit is tough. I'm 9 weeks on on 20mg and still struggling with anxiety although it has reduced it gets bad around my period tho. keep up with it. if you have questions this forum is great.
