      Hi Dawn

You can report this drug to the MHRA.

It is quite clear to me that the doctors have very little knowledge of the dangers of mirtazapine and other ADs. The yellow card system is there to flag up serious concerns regarding withdrawal side effects of medicines.

The more people who report their side effects mean that the Medical Healthcare and Regulatory Agency (MHRA) are obligated to investigate and take action.

I have reported this drug via their yellow card system and it's very easy to do.

There  is now a growing number of healthcare professionals who do agree with patients when they say  these drugs have withdrawal side effects.  The government is now investigating why one in eleven adults are taking tranquilizers, painkillers or antidepressants.

We know they are taking antidepressants because they are very difficult to stop and they are difficult to stop because they have such vicious withdrawal side effects.

I didn't mean to ramble but this dismissive attitude to antidepressants side effects is quite wrong

Felt anxious very groggy and had a very nasty streak which isn't me at all

I’m having the same grogginess problems. I have just been diagnosed with hypo thyroid. I am male 35 as well. I’m wondering if this is the root cause of all my symptoms.

I just weaned myself down from 30 to 15 then 7.5 over 3 weeks I had to do it for my own sanity

I only went up 15 as my max dose. For a month now . I took 7.5 last night.  How long were you on it?

    Hi Susan

It is not recommended at all to mix these 2 medications. As prozac takes about 3 weeks to have an effect. However you can experience side effects when coming on it. If you are also decreasing mirt. You will also have side effects of coming off.

Its very difficult to then be able to know. What is happening from what and what is a real effect versus what you are feeling within yourself.

I was even advised not to take st Johns wort during this time. As it is known to interfere with medications.

Perhaps go to another doctor who specialises in mental health. Or if you can speak to a physicist as they are also experienced in medications rather than a psychologist.

I watched a ted talk yesterday about exercise and the effects on the brain.

I exercised yesterday..the first time in a long time..and amazingly...I slept better...My mood is better...my anxiety whilst still there in bursts..is less persistent..it almost seems too simple to be true..she said all you need is 30mins of getting your heart rate up for it to have an immediate effect.

All the best with your struggles
