Mitrazipine horrible side effects?

Been on Mitrazipine for only three weeks and have startd to wean off of it due to horrible side effects. These include:
Night sweats
severe hip pain
tiredness
not sleeping properly
being constantly hungry!
Very tired/groggy for the first few hours of being awake
I work in health care and have a lot of responsibility so turning up to work feeling groggy wasn't very safe. I'm going to wean off of this drug gradually, has anyone weaned themselves off this drug? And if you have how have you found the side effects after not taking the drug? Do the side effects continue?
Any experience would be helpful, this drug is affecting me more than any other has in the past and my GP wasn't able to tell me much about the side effects during withdrawl as he said its different for everyone... to be honest I don't think he knew the answer. Haven't been able to catch the pharmacist at work to ask her yet so was wandring if anyone had had good or bad experiences with a slow wean off of the drug?

I've been looking into weaning off this too and there are many people with severe with-drawl (even doing it slow) My GP had tried to switch me from Mirt to Wellbutrin last summer. Not the GP or the pharmacy informed me of horrible (possible) withdraw symptoms!!! It was awful!! I cried for 2 days straight and could not sleep. I thought it was the Wellbutrin but the more I read, the more I am convinced it was Mirtazapine withdraw. Even people who have been on it for as little as 3 weeks have experienced withdraw.
For me it was cold turkey (but I was not educated in the possible withdraw) I'd say slow and long must be somewhat better and have heard of people using a liquid form. Not sure if it's available in liquid in the US and Canada. Hope this helps!Good luck!

Sorry to hear that you are reacting so bad to the medecine. If it troubles you this much, I would go back to your GP and ask for an alternative.
