I live in a state where winters are fridgid. -0 a lot of the time. What I have noticed that as the weather changes I feel worse until it gets cold and stays cold. Meaning first snow, first day below freezing etc. After there is snow on the ground and the temperature stays cold I actually feel better than I do in the summer months. I feel like the heat and thunder storms are actually worse on me. My worse season by far is summer. Heat also makes my fatigue worse. Fall is my second worse season.

Hi Chris;   I agree with Lisa.   I have always noticed the Hot weather is worse for me....that is when the "burning Pain" becomes really hard to bear, and  of course there is also the issue for me of having to use Air-conditioners to cool down the rooms/shops etc, but this I also cannot tolerate for some reason......ceiling fans are fine, but if I have to go into Air-conditioning, it seems to "drag my muscles/energy down"....you know that feeling of "heaviness"......yes I do find that any change of weather is a set-off for an exacerbation....but worse with heat................Bron

    Hi Chris,

Generally in the forums (not just fibro) there is a dip in the number of posts during the summer months and yes, there are more in winter. We put this down to "normal" internet behaviour, ie users are out and about more in summer. I can't say if fibro specifically has seasonal peaks in posting though.

    Hope this helps.

I wonder re that Chris; as from what I have seen, when people don't have "something....like even the flu"....once it's gone, they forget "how bad they felt"......this is why I think it gets to us, is because it is there ALL the time...never lets up.......................Bron

I notice a very significant rise in my OA pain during cold/damp weather, which I think just makes the fibro pain less manageable rather than increasing it per se.  I do suffer less when the days are sunny, regardless of the temperature - which may link to Vit D levels I suppose.  Coincidentally when (if ever, here in England), the temperature drops below freezing and it's dry, I feel a lot better.  Autumn is by far the worst season personally - number of factors, ie shorter daylight hours, onset of colder wet weather, difficulty balancing keeping warm/cool with fluctuating temperatures, less able to get outdoors and keep mobile, etc. I guess there may be those that wouldn't normally be sitting indoors on their internet if the weather was nicer, so that may be a factor for increased forum traffic.
