Mole

Hi, I have had this mole since I was born (30 years) I have had it checked multiple times and always been told it is no problem and it isn't actually a mole (I can not remember the correct name) and I should just leave it be.

However lately I have been thinking of having it removed, it used to be covered by hair so it wasnt an issue but as it is more visible now I would like it gone.

Does anybody know the name for this skin condition?
