molluscum natural cure with manuka honey

My 3 year old daughter developed molluscum contagiosum.

After several trips to a homeopath with no real improvement, (to be fair she did not claim to be able to cure it.) I was recommended to try Manuka honey. The fact that my mother bought the wrong honey was pure luck.

I had in fact wanted the eating Manuka honey and she purchased Comvita Manukacare 18+. I applied a pea sized amount of honey in total each evening dabbed onto each lesion.

She did not have that many, maybe ten to fifteen lesions. I could not believe how quickly they cleared up. Within a week to ten days they had completely gone.

My niece also had molluscum, which were treated with Manukacare, these too disappeared.

Two years later, my younger daughter who is now 3 has also developed Molluscum contagiosum. This time I decided to try the edible Manuka honey. I purchased a 15+ jar of honey and applied it every evening before bedtime. It is too sticky to put on during the day. The improvement was slow and if I had persevered they may have cleared up, but after about a week I purchased some more Manukacare. One week on, most of them have disappeared I will continue applying the honey for about another week as some of them were quite large and infected, also she has many more lesions than my first daughter.

This seems to be a quick and reasonably priced cure which can be used for all sorts of things I am currently trying it out on a verruca.

In my experience the honey which must be used for fast results is Comvita manukacare 18+ which can be purchased from Holland and Barrett and costs about £11.95.

My daughter aged 2 has also recently contacted molluscum. The spots are mainly on her arms and legs, but are spreading to her body as she scratches them. It is very upsetting to see these horrible things spreading. I will be trying the honey recomended, thank-you!! If this doesn't work there is a treatment from the US called Silvercure, which is supposed to be very effective, but concerned re any side effects. Has anyone used this?

Hi all, I know this is more than a year from your experiences but I was wondering if anyone else has tried the Manuka Honey with any success? I am trying it on my 5 year old daughter who has had them for over 2 years (I didnt realise what it was until recently as she only had one on her face for most of that time and I thought it was a wart, now it is spreading and getting very close to her eyes). I have been using the Comvita Manukacare 18+ as recommended for about 4 days but so far nothing seems to be happening. I am getting desperate as she now has 4 on her face (one just next to her right eye and one in the bottom eye lashes of her left eye) and I am scared they will spread into her eye. I am also bathing her in Tea Tree Oil daily (20 odd drops in a few inches of bath water). All I want is to hear that others have managed to rid themselves of this horrible disease through this method. I cant believe that we will have to wait it out as I have a feeling it will be around for a long time and she is getting really paranoid about the spots on her face as she cant hide them.

Our little 2 yr old boy has had mollusucum contagiosum on his chest and upper arm for about 3 1/2 months now. The doctor didn't seem worried by it and said it would go away after 6 months to a year, however, the spots seemed to be getting more not less (and he's starting swimming lessons soon - don't want to spread it). Whenever we picked him up, invaribly the tops of the spots would be knocked off and bled, so after reading this post I rushed to my nearest H and B before closing time and bought some of the 15+ Manuka eating honey (£16!!! - all they had). Yes it is sticky, but we've been daubing it on his spots just before bed time and then putting a vest on him to cover them up. Initially nothing happened, then after a few days they all \"came to a head\" and now (10 days) no new spots are forming and all the old ones have either gone or are disappearing. Amazing. Give it a go.

My daughter has MC and its very upsetting as she only had abut 2 last week and now has about 10-15 just under her arm and now seem to be spreading on the side of her body. I read this and purchased Manuka honey UMF 10 from Waitrose and starting applying it at night and then covering them with a long sleeve vest. I have notice that she has got a few more and the ones she did have have got larger and red ... is that right ... I have only been using the money for about 6 days now...... Does that mean they are getting better or do you think that the honey is not working and maybe I need to try and UMF factor of 20+

i would really appreciate some advise as I have a baby due is about 8 weeks and dont want the baby to catch it. The doctors act if there is nothing to worry about!
