Mona Lisa

I have been experiencing UTI's for 4 years, was treated for intersistal cystitis which it turned out I didn't have.  Atrophied vagina is what is adding to the frequent UTI's went 4 months without one then was done for 6 weeks for infection.  Had 3 different antibiotics.  Definitely interested in the Mona Lisa Laser as I can't plan anything in my life around these infections.  Has anyone had the Mona Lisa or heard much about it.  I am going to see a specialist Nov. 2nd to hear about if they think it can help.

Hope all of you will share your stories.

    Hi nancyo,

Sympathies for your problems-it is grim isn't it. ?I have heard of the Mona Lisa laser and  know that it is brilliant. Unfortunately, like all good things that actually work , it is only available for private patients. We have to carry on with these creams which do nothing. I will try and find out the cost and get back to you.  We will never . ever get in on NHS, yo can hardly get on the NHS what you need , It is apalling.

    Best Wishes, Ann

I am in the united states, it costs $3000... was wondering if it really works, going to do some research too...and going to Stanford... okay now but waiting for the next urinary tract infection and it goes on ... longest I have gone okay in 5 years is 4 months.  it is truly a chronic condition

I have read up on it.Seams more and more doctors are performing this procedure . since its pretty knew will wait to see more about side affects etc.Closest place to me in United States that does this is about 2 hours away.I hope this proves very sucessful Would be nice if health insurance would cover it..prob doubtful. If it works and proves safe I would consider it. Come on Docs..start doing this procedure.

    Hi nancyo,

Nice to hear from you. gosh, what  price!!! I think you need about 3 or 4 sessions and then probably more further down the road.I think it is appalling that us girls are not offered this. It seems once we hit menopause, we are of no consequence. It's an appalling situation. We should not be expected to accept this. It is physically, mentally and emotionally damaging. If you google Mona Lisa Laser you will find lots of information.

Hi ... the $3000 is for three procedures, 1000 each and then once a year at $500.  I think it should be covered, this is a chronic, painful illness and I know what you mean about being of no consequence.  Hoping it will be eventually but in the meantime I can't wait.  will let you know after I go to Stanford on the 2nd ... my question is will this help prevent uti's.

I so agree with all the said we are of no consequence and its just oh its natural and get on with it. Could  never afford this type of treatment.
