Sorry to hear you have burning in your urethera too . It's a nightmare isn't it. Mine seems to trigger urgency feelings in my urethera, so I have ended up with urgency anxiety this last year too. Not good. Trying to get over it. All started with Vaginal Atrophy 3 years ago. I wouldn't want to go away either.

Your right it's a nightmare.  I think having the 4th treatments of the Mona Lisa touch made me worse.  I have a cruise planned for next month.  I'm going to tell my friend next week we have to cancel.  Good thing we have insurance.  I spoke to them before how to go about it.  My friend will probably never speak to me again.  What's urgency anxiety.  I also have overactive bladder for 1 1/2 years so that irritates the bladder.  I take Valium when I go out.  Very depressed today still in Jammie's.

Hi Linda, Sorry to hear the 4th treatment of Mona Lisa made you worse. Yes I think I would be cancelling the cruise too. In fact I daren't book anything till I have found a way to at least manage these symptoms. Yes a good job you have got insurance. I hope your friend will be more understanding than you think she will be. Basically urgency anxiety equates to being scared of wetting myself in public as I get these urgency sensations in my urethera. So I am anxious in case they kick in and I'm not near a loo or if there are queues for them. Whilst there is definitely the physical side to this, the uretheral and vaginal soreness and burning, the urgency is partly and anxiety thing I'm sure. I have avoided all sorts this last year because of it, even a funeral. And there is the annual Flowershow on in town this next few days. I will be missing that again. :-( Overactive bladder I believe can result in urgency or frequency. I've had a lot of trouble with frequency too but it's urgency now. Does the valium help? I'm depressed too. Would be crying my eyes out if nobody was home. :-(

The Valium works to calm bladder down.  I first take 5 mg and if that doesn't work I take another 5 I have taking a total of 15 when I go out.  I would probably take too much on the cruise and the oxy together I would probably od.  Even though my pain specialist says it ok.  I would have too much anxiety.  I just go out locally dinner movies concerts that's ok for now.

I started having frequency of having to go quickly and my doctor prescribed Myrbetrig. It works like a charm, does not give you dry mouth like the generics, but I am in the US and I notice a lot of people on this site are from the UK. So it may not help you, it is expensive, I think with my insurance it cost me $60 for a three month supply or possibly $90 for a three month supply. But it works and now I'm taking it every other day. I also had the Mona Lisa touch, all three, the first one was very difficult, but the next two were easy. And helped a lot with the urgency and frequency, but I'm still having trouble with  vaginal dryness  during intercourse.

I am going to ask doc for script.  How long does it take to kick in.  I am so sick of oab and taking Valium and being obssssed where is the bathroom when I go anywhere.  It won't cost much with my insurance.  My elmiron cost $50 for three months so it probably will be the same.im on Long Island.

Thanks Linda. I had not thought of valium working on the bladder too. Unfortunately it's not my bladder that's giving me the urgency feelings. It's my urethera. But I totally understand you being so sick of being obsessed with where the bathroom is when you go anywhere. I am the same. I also make sure if I do go out that I go somewhere where they won't be queues for them. Really really sick of it now. I do wear Tena Pants when I go out in case the worst happens but am scared of them leaking, I'm so nervous. I will add here that regardless of all the burning and soreness, urgency episodes and discomfort down below, regardless of being so scared of having an accident in public, I have never yet had an accident! I almost did in town last year though and I was terrified. That's when all this started. :-(

I also have Intersttial cystitis.  Do you have that?  I have a porta potty in my car.  Last week I didn't have it in my car and had to per so bad I pulled over in a secluded area and peer outside.  If I need to use in I can put my passenger seat all Thur way forward and put it on floor so no one would see. I have tried dependsin the house once and peed 3 tiniest in it and was fine.

Sorry to hear you have interstitial cystitis. No I don't have it but I know a lot of people who do on the IC Support forum on Facebook. So I have an idea on how painful it is. I thought I had IC a while ago but it turned out to be vaginal atrophy. They cater for various bladder etc issues at the IC forum. Not heard of a porta potty before but it sounds like a good idea to me. I could do with something similar for long journeys. Glad the Depends worked for you in the house. I tried the Tena Pants, not a success as I tried them first thing in the morning and as I can have really big voids in the early hours, anything up to 750ml, the Tena leaked!! However I was stood in the bath at the time. Probobly they wouldn't leak during the day when my voids aren't so big. But it still scares me and I tend not to drink so much just before I go out as well. Wish I could just get over this once and for all.

Hi Shirley my ic isn't bad but last year went from pelvic pain to oab.  The ports potty is plastic.  I seat on seat and pee in bucket.  I have a cover for it.  Just clean it when I get home.  I also have small bladder capacity.  I only per 4 oz to 7 oz at a time.  I just spoke to my friend.  Told her we're cancelling cruise.  I will be making phone calls tomorrow to cruise and airline.  Are you in. USA i.e. England?

Glad your IC isn't bad. OAB is hellish isn't it. The porta potty sounds ideal. May look into that idea. My bladder capacity is anything up to about 500ml tops during the day and as I said before, it's been 750ml in the early hours when I first get up. But that's the absolute most. Often my voids are 100ml or 150ml. But 250ml is about average. I hope your friend didn't react too badly when you told her about the cruise. It's a shame isn't it but hopefully you can go another time. So yes I am just North of Liverpool where they get a lot of cruise ships calling in to visit.

Hi Linda, Yes I live "Near" Liverpool. I would say it's about 20 miles from here. So not that far off. The Paul McCartney concert will be great I'm sure. I can imagine it cost a fortune for tickets. Hope you enjoy the book party at your friends library too. I wish I was going to the big Flowershow in town but I daren't with the soreness and urgency anxiety. :-(
