HI,  new to site. I have my first MLT Friday.  How have you been doing this past year?

Had my first MLT treatment 9 days ago.  I have had burning pain since the first day.  I have interstitial cystitis, atrophy and lichens sclerosis.  I only had the treatment internally.  When does the burning end.  I am miserable.  I don't want to go back for a second one.  I feel like I was burned inside.  Has anyone else ever had such a bad reaction?

I had three treatments and only was uncomfortable for a short time after 3rd treatment. Hope you get some relief. Should not be like that

If you have Lichens you should have been treated on the outside as well. That's what made the biggest difference for me. But 9 days is a long time to be in pain. Has your doctor done a lot of these?

I have just finished my 3rd treatment of 3. The total cost was $2100. I am in the U.S., and the treatments were not covered by insurance. Thankfully my employer has a pre-tax flexible medical savings progam, and I was able to use it to pay for it. I was diagnosed with LS, 6 years ago, after a terrible process of trying to find out what was wrong. Piece of advice, I recommend a female gyno, I find they are more sympathetic and more willing to listen. Anyway, we had tried the clobetasol, with no success. I was skeptical about the benefit of the Mona Lisa Touch, but I have to say it has made a dramatic improvement in my tissues. My husband said the color is improved as well. We are able to be intimate again, without the tearing and discomfort I had previously dealt with. I do have to say though, this third treatment was much more painful than the first two, perhaps because the tissue is rejuvenated and has more feeling? I think they should offer a numbing injection, instead of just the cream. My treatments were both interior and exterior. I woul definitely recommend it. It has helped and was worth the expense.

I so agree. I have atrophy and Uti's like twice a month. I had my third treatment about three months ago and I have not had a UTI since… It is changed my lifeInteresting though because my third treatment I had the most discomfort after it But all well now. I paid 2000 and was told I would need to go back once a year for an additional treatment fine with me

This is a follow-up comment from my first one 12 days ago... I have healed up from my third MLT treatment. The skin is much more plump and the itching has subsided almost completely. Every now and then I have a tingle of itching, but nothing like I used to have. My husband is also very pleased with the results, as we can now be intimate and I will not have the discomfort I had previously causing guilt on his side. We are very happy with the results. The cost was substantial, but I feel in the long run it was worth it. The doctor said she would like to see me in a year unless I have any problems. Just to review the status of my tissues and see if any further treatment is necessary. I highly recommend the treatments. Of course with anything, time will tell.

I had my third treatment a month ago and it was the second time Dr. Azad also did the external treatment. I think about her every day, I still can't believe how bad it was and how good it now is just because of this easy treatment. And now she says I don't need any treatments for about a year. That's no premarin cream, no rings, no pills. She showed me my pain scale ratings and I had put a 10 out of 10 for painful sex when I first met her, then a 6 and before my third treatment a 2. Now that it's all done, I'd put a 0 out of 10!

With the kids out of the house and sex being fun again, life is wonderful, we feel like we're in our 30s again.

Separate from sex, on a daily basis, I don't feel the dryness and discomfort from just sitting on my dry bottom anymore. It's really a miracle treatment. So happy I got it done.

I agree! I am two months out from my third treatment. I can't believe the difference! I do hope insurance will cover this in the future. It seems a true cure for this dreadful condition.

I agree. 8 months since my last treatment and symptom and uti free. I feel it's the only cure. Nothing else worked

Thank you all so much for your responses.  I feel the same that to go through with all this and still have to use hormone creams etc isn't what I thought it would be but it sounds as though some of you havent done this.

Good advice about the herpes virus I did have genital herpes once 30 years ago and I regularly get cold sores and I see Christine had cold sores after the treatment.

I've managed to get my symptoms back under control with just some burning front and rear.  Think I got a bit complacent about using pessaries etc all the time or I needed a boost of estrogen.  I upped the vagifem to 4 times a week for 2 weeks and constantly used vitamin E and coconut oil and panty liners.

Isnt this an awful condition cannot believe there is so little information given out by doctors and medical staff as I am sure if we were regularly tested for homone levels before it became such a problem it could be allievated.

Hi ladies. I had my first MT treatment done 5 days ago and it caused itching and burning as well as my labia is pink and inflamed which still has not subsided. Since it is difficult to find true side effect experiences on search engines I decided to post here. Thank you all for being candid. I hope the itching and burning will go away. I'm a bit scared that it has caused this as most of you seem to have symptoms go away in a few days and mine hasn't gone away. I will keep you posted of my progress. Anybody else experience side effects like this?
