Hi everyone Im 39yrs old and have been suffering with vaginal atrophy ever since I was 28 at which point i had a partial hysterectomy. Absolutely nothing is working lubes, creams not even the pill insert of estrogen. Will someone please tell me what will help I am considering the Mona Lisa Touch next if someone has had this procedure please let me know how it worked for you. I'm so depressed about this. I feel less of a woman and do not even want to be intimate because it's so embarrassing and painful.

I’ve never found vagifem any good, not strong enough, but just been prescribed ovestin 1 which is a cream you insert. Much better, a stronger version than standard Ovestin so less cream and less mess. So far so good

      Hi Tori,

Have you tried getting prescribed compounded 50/50 estrodial and estriol cream, known as bi-est? You can get it compounded to go on the labia that you use daily. In addition there is also a compounded estriol cream that can be inserted as needed vaginally at night that should start to make those tissues better. You are too young to be dealing with dryness and libido issues. Have you suggested testosterone supplementation to your doctor? You can get this from a compounding pharmacy as well made for women. Start at a low mg and work your way up slowly until you feel better. You will be surprised what how testosterone can bring life back to a struggling libido. It can also help with soreness, dryness and thinning tissues you are experiencing. Something to consider. Estriol is the safest estrogen. If this works for you you will need to maintain it for the rest of your life or your issues will come back. Your body is not going to make enough of these hormones anymore to keep things healthy. Good Luck

I had my 3rd treatment 2weeks ago.  The pain and discomfort has improved but not to the point I have expected.  I still have 4 weeks to go and I don’t have sex anymore.  The discomfort comes and goes.  It used to burn like the dickens then felt like I was sitting on sandpaper and now I have different levels of discomfort.  It will come and go and sometimes go away.  My bladder is so much better than before the treatment.  I just pray that it kicks in shortly and goes away.  Paid 2200 for treatment. Would pay anything to make it fully go away.  I have heard that even months after the last treatment u are still healing. Dont know if that is true.  The dr. told me to be patient that I have made a lot of progress but I’m tired of dealing with this.  I use Premarin on my finger 3 times a week and on the outside.  The dr told me to be patient.  If they hurt the way we do they would get it.  Like I said I have had improvement but it’s slow. I also almost 64 years old.

I am at the point myself I am willing to try just about any and everything for whatever the cost just to get some relief even been drinking 6 bottles of water a day hoping that'll help. And I agree if the doctors were experiencing what we were maybe there would be a little more understanding. Fern did they make you pay for the whole procedure upfront or were you able to pay for it in increments such as at each session?

Tori. Even drinking all the water won’t help. I use detergent free chemical free soaps detergents. I take probiotics. I wear loose clothing. White underwear granny style loose. I do everything humanly possible to get rid of this cursed condition. I paid all upfront for the procedure. Some people may need a 4 procedure.

Mona Lisa procedure did provide some relief but months after the last treatment.  I paid up front and was told that maintenance would cost 500, I’m not certain how many treatments are included in the maintenance.  There is still one area that burns during intercourse and I’m asking my provider to focus on that area.  From my conversations with other women the procedure works to varying degrees.  I feel the same as others who’ve commented, I want relief and to return to some form of a normal sex life...

I just want to feel like I don’t have a vagina.  It’s been  almost a year of pure hell.  I missed 5 months of work, lost family and friends over this.  No one gets it unless they got this condition.  The maintenance once a year is one treatment

Hi, I have had atrophy for about 4 years and been through all the suggested treatments. It was only after seeing a specialist that I made any progress he gave me Ovestin plus Tibolone and this combination has eased all my symptoms as long as I maintain it. If I forget and get a bit lax the symptoms slowly return so I know this is the lowest dosage for me. I still need a bit of extra lubricant when having sex which I use Sylk a natural plant based one which makes everything more comfortable. I had also considered the Mona Lisa to avoid all of this but it seems the top ups are required which is another expense plus quite a few had initially been almost cured and then seen the return of symptoms. I hope you find the combination that works for you soon people don't realise how awful this is!

I definitely agree it's awful. Had you been put on vagifhem before the Ovestin? Just wondering because that is currently what I'm using and even tho it's only been a month and a half don't see any difference my doc says to wait 4 months that is a lifetime when dealing with this.

Hi yes I was on Vagifem twice a week when it used to be the higher dosage 25 mcg I think, initially it worked fine but once I came off it the symptoms returned worse than before I think it deteriorated with time anyway . Once I had the hysterectomy with my ovaries removed the atrophy went from bad to extreme which is why I need the higher dosage now. Persist with the Vagifem it definitely takes time to kick in.

Yeah I'll give it more time am on 10 mgs may need to ask my doc to kick it up some. Thanks for the info.
