Mona Lisa Touch Laser Treatment

Posted , 4 users are following.

I had my 1st laser treatment yesterday due to vaginal atrophy and frequent UTI’s.  I am quite uncomfortable with burning and itching.  Has anyone experienced these symptoms after an initial treatment?  I was told to use Aquaphor and saline solution several times a day.  I had the treatment done on the inside and the outside.  Any help is appreciated.

After the MLT, I was told to take Tylenol and use an ice pack between my legs. Try it, it worked for me.

Thanks so much for your quick response.  I will take Tylenol.  I am using the cold pack and Aquaphor.

Good, I hope it helps. My doctor said it was normal to experience some burning and itching during the healing process. It should stop after a few days.

Thanks again, Linda.  The other issue I have is I am urinating a little more frequently (every hour and 45 minutes) part of the day.

I was one of the first on this forum. I have had 6 treatments . Didn’t feel much better until 4-5 ones. I was very atrophied. Still use Vagifem 2x week. My dr says the number needed and reaction is different for everyone. The first three were the most irritating. Give it at least a week. Did not use or ever hear of saline being used.

I had three treatments and have an appt in June for a checkup and maybe another treatment if needed. I use Aquafore once daily and if I experience any burning, I use an ice pack. It works.

      Glad you are doing great.

Thanks, Jean.  I am feeling pretty good.  I think it is worth it if it helps stop so many UTI’s.  I get my second treatment in mid March.

Hi I had my first ML with no issues, not sure if you have other underlying problems I do however have the familiar burning after a few months but I am trying not to revert to Vagifem, have you tried applying natural yoghurt to the affected area I swear by this and know it is safe it gives me immediate relief and cools the area hope this helps

      Hi Kathryn,

I will probably try the yogurt.  I have another yeast infection.  I can’t seem to get rid of it.  I am currently using Nystatin for the yeast.  I had a urine culture done today to rule out a urinsry tract infection.  I will see my Uro/GYN this Thursday for the culture result and an evaluation.  Thank you for your suggestion.

I hope you solve the problem, there is nothing worse than constant UTIs and burning and itching in this area it is an absolute nightmare, I am symptom free at the moment but holding my breath as this can change overnight the only problem I face at the moment is constant freezing cold sweats which I have read about on the internet presumably due to yet again hormone issues, I have tried everything but feeling reasonably ok other than the sweats after battling 12 months of burning and hot sweats I can tolerate the cold sweats .
