Mono and ITCHY skin

Posted , 4 users are following.

Hello all,

I was just diagnosed with mono and I have to say my worst symptom is the itching of my skin. It is UNBEARABLE. I can't sleep at night my whole body hurts so bad.

I've been told it's because of a build up in bilirubin. Does anyone have experience with this? If so, how did you get relief?

I’m sorry to hear that. My head has been itchy, I sort of thought it was because I have been in bed a lot but who knows with this virus?

I’ve read a lot about rashes so I can certainly see it being normal. Wishing you the best.

    Hi Woolever,

So sorry to hear you're having this horrible symptom, I think the virus makes you nervous system go on overdrive and things like this can definitely be common - for me it was the constant running fever I felt through my body which drove me crazy.

Some vitamins and herbs helped me and definitely could help calm the nervous system. What helped me was a good strong multi-vitamin per day, a B complex vitamin (for energy and nervous system), high doses of Vitamin C (1000mg-3000mg per day) and immune boosting herbs like siberian ginseng and echinicea.

Hoping this settles down soon and hang in there - remember you will get better from this, even though sometimes when going through it, it doesn't feel that way - recovery is on its way!

    Craig
